A SPARR is born

Last Thursday a few concerned neighbours got together to discuss the impending Spalding Western Relief Road (SWRR). As individuals they shared the same worries: what that road would do to their magnificent views of the Vernatt's Drain and beyond, property prices, the environmental impact on and around the drain, pollution, and the impact of additional housing on the local infrastructure. Everyone was outraged at how the council had failed to inform those residents who would be directly impacted by this new road, and many weren't aware how far along planning for the new road and housing was.

Thus, SPARR - Spalding Pinchbeck Against Relief Road, was born: a pressure group with a single, united voice that represents the people of Spalding and Pinchbeck and all those affected by the planned road. Lincolnshire County Council and South Holland District Council will hear us, and we will hold them accountable. We have created an online presence via social media and this website. We will be holding meetings and staging demonstrations to stop the project in its current form and encourage a more conscientious development plan for the future.

We encourage all residents to join us - have your say in the development of Spalding and Pinchbeck!
