Help minimise impact of development for future generations by taking action today.

Local election day is tomorrow, 2nd May 2019. Although we have no party affiliations or political persuasions, we urge you to exercise your right to vote and challenge the status quo.

The list of councillors who approved the latest local plan, the South East Lincolnshire Local Plan (SELLP) are: Cllrs Alcock, Ephraim Coupland, Gambba-Jones, Biggadike (sub), Booth (sub), Seymour (sub), Brewis (sub), Worth (sub).

A direct quote from the SELLP states:

"8.4.6 The SWRR, when completed, is expected to deliver significant benefits to traffic management around Spalding. However, its total cost and current funding arrangements (i.e. through developer contributions linked to housing delivery) mean that its construction is viewed as a series of separate ‘projects’ over a number of years, with the completion of the road currently expected to stretch beyond the end of the Local Plan period in 2036."

We are in 2019. "Expected" completion is beyond 2036. Spending 20+ years to complete a road is neither reasonable, guaranteed or acceptable. One of our members very aptly described the SWRR as 2 cul-de-sacs + 1 pipe dream...
