We have secured a venue for our first public meeting which will be on Saturday 30th March 2019 at The Vista Hall, St Nicholas Road, Spalding from 1-3pm.  This will be an informational meeting for members of the public about the proposed relief road since not many people are aware of what's going on.  We will also introduce SPARR, what our objectives and priorities are, and what people can do to make their voices heard and object to the current proposal.  Please attend if you can.  We would like to thank all those who volunteered to distribute leaflets. There will be a protest outside South Holland District Council offices from 5.30pm on 1st and 2nd April.  We will be there to support our Bourne Road residents as they will have a 10-minute after hours one-on-one meeting with council members to voice their concerns and ask questions.  "Divide and conquer" comes to mind in this scenario, and appears to be a tactic for damage control by the council.  Please attend to show unity and solidarity with our Bourne Rd contingents.  Placards and signs are most welcome, the wittier the better! Those of you that haven't already please object to the planning applications for the North and South sections of the road.  There is a direct link to these from this website in our "Get Involved" section. Also, please write to your MP (Sir John Hayes MP, Conservative Office, 10 Broad Street, Spalding, Lincs PE11 1TB) and to the council leader of Lincolnshire County Council (Councillor Martin Hill, Lincolnshire County Council, County Offices, Newland, Lincoln LN1 1YL), or email him on cllrm.hill@lincolnshire.gov.uk For your information, after further digging, we have found out that access across the Drain from Blue Gowt Lane will be incorporated in the new road proposal, with a slight deviation, and therefore will not become permanently closed.  We want our arguments against the road to be based on fact so that we can keep our members accurately informed and present valid objections to our local and county councils.  If you do find any of our information to be inaccurate please contact us so we can set it right. Finally, we have had some enquiries about donations to SPARR.  Printing the leaflets and renting The Vista Hall have incurred costs that have kindly been covered by some of our founding members.  There is absolutely no obligation, but if you would like to make a donation please let us know, and there will be a donation box at the meeting.  We will look at opening a SPARR-specific bank account next week and will have an accounts log available to anyone who wishes to see it.

See you at the meeting and protests.
